Fair point and thanks for the feedback! I certainly don't want to advocate for using imprecise language in favor of simplicity. In re-reading my article and seeing the feedback, I realize that I did not do a good job of making my point clear. I had hoped to say that if you feel like you're using too many advanced words and want to tip the scales to strike a better balance, you could consider using these tools to find a more well-known word. I've rewritten some sections and I'm hoping that point comes across. Thanks for taking the time to read my article and share your thoughts--I appreciate it. As a writer, I'm always learning!
