Hi Katharine! Thanks so much for the feedback. We did discuss the role of host country nationals at length during the interview, but I realize in the editing of the interview I left that discussion out. You're right that it's an important perspective to share. I've added part of our discussion about HCNs back to the article.

How much interaction have you had with HCNs in this project?

Lindsay: So I think that’s been the trickiest part of this because it’s so much of like finding connections and being able to make those connections and then there’s the language barrier. So we had sent an email to some people who had said they would help us out and we asked them to interview the HCNs from the Peace Corps country that they served in, so I’m waiting for that data to come back. It’s quite difficult I will say and I had an idea of how we can include HCNs better because it’s just like really hard. But I think at the core of this project is just really like decolonizing our side of it and giving them all the power so I think going too much into ‘Oh, what can Peace Corps look like’ would be breaching their right to sovereignty and autonomy. So, we’re really just setting the framework for this American organization just to reduce its power and putting that power back in the hands of HCNs. It’s proven to be difficult and we’re looking for ways to include more HCNs in the project.
