Thank you for sharing your story, Stephanie! As a first generation college graduate and POC who went to a fairly competitive college, I relate to so much of what you shared in this story. I also suffered from imposter syndrome and it set me back professionally for years. One point to consider: I'm not sure Harvard Law School is the place to develop a realistic perception of who you are. If it's like my graduate program, it's an insular, stressful, highly competitive environment that you're in for a limited period of time. I'm imagining who you are and what you've experienced in your life are bigger than that. Also, it may feel like the professors have the ultimate say on your skills and abilities. They are the experts, right? However, they only experience you in limited ways as well. You know yourself. Just some thoughts from someone who's been there--I hear the "I'm not good enough" ringing behind your words and that doesn't need to define you. Wishing for all your dreams to come true, my friend.
